Carbon Removal India Alliance
Asitava Sen is the Co-Founder & CEO of the Carbon Removal India Alliance (CRIA) - the only non-partisan industry coalition dedicated to catalysing and supporting the growth of a thriving durable carbon dioxide removal (CDR) sector in India; and exists to accelerate the development, commercialisation, deployment, and co-benefit of CDR technologies in India.
He brings extensive expertise in public policy and sustainability, particularly in Indian agriculture, climate and food systems. As the former CEO of one of India’s largest agricultural input industry associations CropLife, Asitava has led major initiatives in policy reform. His prior roles at Rabobank, the World Economic Forum, the World Bank, and UN-FAO further showcase his deep understanding of the intersection between policy, finance, and sustainable development.
Asitava is a Stripe Climate Fellow (the only one from Asia). He serves as Independent Director on the Board of few large AgTech companies and is a member of several prestigious international platforms such as the Oxford Offsetting Principles Practitioners Forum; and is an Observer for Carbon Business Council.
Asitava holds an MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur, and is a Mechanical Engineer.
