Lt Col Monish Ahuja (Retd), CMD of M/s Punjab Renewable Energy Systems Private Limited (PRESPL), is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune, and holds a PG (M.Tech) in Nuclear Technology (Mechanical) from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.

He is widely recognised in the Biomass–Bioenergy fraternity as a committed and knowledgeable leader. He has consistently highlighted the challenges faced by biomass and bioenergy project developers at national and international forums and has engaged with institutions including MNRE, MoPNG, MoA&FW, NITI Aayog, G20, CEM–MI, Global Biofuel Alliance, IRENA, World Bank, JICA and JBIC.

As Chairman, CBEII, he serves on a Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare committee examining paddy straw supply chain issues.

He also authored Project 42, presented to the Prime Minister’s Office in December 2022, which continues to gain traction for addressing agri-residue burning and sustainable bioenergy solutions.
