Dr. Usha Barwale Zehr is the Chairman and Executive Director of Grow Indigo. She is focused on making regenerative agriculture work at scale for smallholder farmers, with farmer income and soil health at the center. Under her leadership, Grow Indigo has built one of India's most rigorous soil carbon programmes and recently reached Verra issuance under VM0042, setting a new benchmark for high integrity smallholder credits from India.

Dr. Zehr holds an MS and PhD in Agronomy from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, and is also CTO and Board Director at Mahyco, where she helped lead the introduction of Bt cotton in India.
